Catoctin Mountain Park is a park located in part of the Monocacy Valley and Catoctin Mountain ridge−range that forms the northeastern rampart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the Appalachian Mountains System. The park is approximately 5120 acres or 8 square miles in area. President Franklin D. Roosevelt created programs to give people a chance to rebuild their lives from the Great Depression. The Works Progress Administration and the Civilian Conservation Corps gave this land a second opportunity and through re-growth, a new role as a recreation area. Today, Catoctin Mountain Park offers a variety of outdoor recreation experiences for visitors of all ages. The park includes 25 miles of hiking trails, popular trout fishing streams, camping, and horseback riding. Anderson Design Group poster artists hand-rendered this original illustration in the fashion of vintage poster art from the 20th Century.
